It has been said that Miss Merika Hunter is the
"flower" of the band Soulflower. Merika was raised in a musical
family, singing harmonies at the age of three. By five, she was singing
music festivals throughout North America. She placed as a finalist in
the 1996 Canadian National Exhibition Rising Star Contest and performed
at the prestigious Reggae on the River Festival in 2001
